Eventful Giving is the sponsor and manager of Easton's Costume Shop located on Hanson Street in downtown Easton, Maryland.
FOR COMMUNITY NEEDS
A Talbot County nonprofit founded on February 15, 2011 that raises funds for community needs through events that put the FUN back in FUNdraising. Manages The Costume Shop in Easton, Maryland. Founding members are: Dr. Todd Albrecht, Debbi Dodson, Marie U'Ren and Kathleen Witte.
In Loving Memory of Eventful Giving Founding Member, Kathleen E. Witte, Eventful Giving plans to honor her with a plaque. If all goes well, the plaque will be located near a tree planted near the Bullit House on the Mid-Shore Community Foundation property next to Easton Town Hall as part of Easton's Gift A Tree (GAT) program. Eventful Giving made the donation as the sponsor but no date has been set for the planting
For many years Easton’s Costume Shop was located in donated space; this is no longer true. In order to provide a user-friendly location to house the collection, we now pay rent and fees of approximately $800 per month.
Theatre groups are asked to pay a yearly membership fee. The fee is based on the number of plays/events offered each year. Other groups and individuals borrowing costumes must pay user fees by making a contribution by cash or check payable to Eventful Giving when items are borrowed. These contributions help defray the cost of the rent and other expenses connected to maintaining the shop.
Numerous community minded businesses and citizens are sponsoring the shop to keep the membership and user fees affordable. Easton’s Costume Shop is funded in part by a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council. We are very grateful for their support.
Contributions paid by check are tax-deductible and should be made to the Mid-Shore Community Foundation.
